Obverse:
RICARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC. Crowned facing bust in tressure of arches.
Reverse:
POSVI DEVM ADIVTORE MEVM, CIVITAS LONDON. Long cross pattée dividing the legend, with three pellets in each angle.
A couple small striking splits and slightly wavy flan otherwise good very fine. Pleasing with such a well-defined boar’s head and full title. The boar, being Richard’s personal emblem, was known to symbolise courage, ferocity and determination... and an animal that fights fiercely when cornered.
