Highly likely ex Colchester Hoard. 

The 1969 Colchester Hoard is one of the largest and most important finds of long cross pennies in Britain, containing 14,065 coins and several mid-13th century forgeries. The second part of the hoard was highly significant, including nearly £8 worth of coins, all struck from the same pair of class 6 Bury St Edmunds dies, previously known from a single specimen. The British Museum acquired 1,550 of the coins, while other museums also obtained smaller selections. Nearly 12,000 coins were returned to the finders and sold through numerous auctions in 1971 and 1972.
