As noted in Ancient British Coins, several interpretations of Caniduro have been proposed, including a name meaning ‘the enduring Iceni’, a place-name meaning ‘reeds-fort’, and Durocani, possibly meaning ‘fort of the Iceni’. However, the main consensus it that it more likely to represents a personal name, two personal names, or a combination of a personal name and a place name. They further suggest that Cani and Duro may represent two co-rulers who briefly ruled the Iceni around the time of Antedios, although this interpretation remains tentative.
