Struck on an oval flan, very fine and hoard provenance.
Found as part of the Crane Valley Hoard in Dorset, May 2022.
The hoard consisted of nice gold staters, five coins of Verica of the Atrebates & Regini and four attributed to the Dobunni, three of which are Anted and one of Catti. The find is unusual for Dorset as the coins originate from outside of the local region and all are inscribed types, a rare feature among Dorset Iron Age finds. The coins were declared treasure, disclaimed and returned to the finders. Treasure case number 2022T547 and PAS find number DOR-613FFD (this coin number 8).
