From ABC:
It has been proposed that Cani-duro, like Caesar's Cenimagni (BG V, 21), may contain an early form of the tribal name and be interpreted as 'the enduring Iceni". It has also been suggested that Caniduro may be a place-name meaning 'reeds-fort' or that it could be read as Durocani 'fort of the Iceni' (Chris Rudd List 93, 2-7). However, we believe that Caniduro is more likely to be a personal name ('handsome-hard'?) or two personal names, such as Canicos 'handsome' and Duronos 'gate-man', or a personal name plus place-name. Two personal names are not uncommon on coins of the Iceni and Corieltavi, whereas there is no precedent for a tribal name appearing on any ancient British coin and place-names are relatively rare (Calleva, Camulodunon, Duno and Verlamion are the only four recorded on coins). So we should probably regard Cani-and Duro-as a couple of co-rulers who briefly reigned around the time of Antedios.
