Facing Bust/Small Cross Type
Ælfwine on Bristol
0.99g 16.6mm
Spink - 1183

Obverse:
EADPARD REX N. Crowned and bearded bust.
Reverse:
ÆLFPINE ON BRI Small cross pattée. Triangle/wedge in field.
Weak centre with a few marks and a small perforation between E and X of REX, otherwise good fine and very rare. This type is known from just two moneyers at Bristol, Ælfwine and Godwine. There are only three examples of Bristol recorded on the EMC/SCBI, one of which is this coin (EMC 2015.0067). The extra triangle/wedge in the reverse field interesting.
