Edward III Gold Quarter Noble
Treaty Period - B
[Annulet before Edward]
1.72g 18.4mm
Spink - 1511
North - 1244
Obverse:
EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL. Quartered shield of arms of England and France within tressure of eight arches. Double satire stops.
Reverse:
EXALTA[BITVR IN] GLORIA. Floriated cross with lis terminals, lions between, lis in centre, all within tressure of eight arches.
A coin with all the C’s… clipped, chipped, creased and likely cleaned… a coin with character, and while the initial annulet is missing, the barred A in GLORIA firmly places the reverse at least in group B.
