Ex Middleham Hoard, Spink Auction, 4 Jul 1995 - Lot 723 (Part)

 

The Middleham Hoard was found in June 1993 near Middleham, North Yorkshire. Likely buried between 1645 and 1649 during the English Civil War, it consisted of 5,099 coins, all silver buried in 3 separate pots. It is the largest hoard of coins buried during the Civil War to have been discovered.
